The Mystical Bible and The TarotSite operated by Sabazius Athame A place where Magick Is Afoot and "Love is the Law" FormallyCharlie Sabbat's Magickal EmporiumProprietor Charlie SabbatWelcome to "The Bible and Tarot school". Charlie Sabbat is my pen name and you can reach me via email to CharlieSabbat@MagickIsAfoot.comTwenty years ago I had discovered the Tarot for myself. I was preaching in a small church in Joplin, MO. when I became intrigued with the Jewish priesthood, and how it functioned. They started with going to school where they were taught how to serve the people as servants of God. They were taught how to build an altar, How to dress out the body of any animal that was legal to eat for sacrifice. They learned how to prophecy, and how to divine the will of God using tools. They cast lots, and stones. They carried ritual items like the Unum and thumin to divine Gods will.Unwittingly my studies were causing my church friends to fear what I was learning. Mostly they feared the unknown and what I was studying was Evil because it was unknown. This was just one of many Christian "Catch 22s" I would run into as I ran out of the church.Until then I loved my christian life. I was popular as a preacher, and a good teacher. I lived in the "Bible belt" and I personally loved the Bible. I read the Bible for the joy of it. No sense of duty could move me stronger than my own hunger. I loved it like I loved nothing else, until I was introduced to the Tarot. Without words the 22 cards of the major arcanum sang to me of a spirit which I had originally received when I first read the bible. The 54 cards of the minor arcanum were to me the ten commandments, proverbs, and the psalms. As a pastor in a modern Christian church I would be required to give counsel on family relationships, on romantic relationships, finances, and even birth and death. Today as an unofficial priest to many wiccans, gnostics, and the unlabeled I give counsel using the Bible, and the Tarot, and anything from The Farmers Almanac to Dear Abby, to reach into some dark place and give it light.
Objectives:When I originally created this site I had a desire to share what I've learned and I scattered myself all over the place. A friend of mine kindly pointed out that she liked some of my writting but it seemed aimless. I must agree, so I listed some objectives to guide me.First; I absolutely believe that "God" exist in me and in you yet I don't know if I know anything about "God". I think I do, so I live my life accordingly.Second; Both the Tarot, and The Bible have led me through a rewarding life where I may act like a monster and I may live righteously, but in every case "God" loved me and "Love is the Law" and "God" is love. In appretiation I wish to give back what "God" gave to me.Third; I wish to be a comfort to anyone who comes to me. Because I believe that "God" is in us all individually I can love "God" by loving you. Any insights I receive I share.Fourth; I wish to introduce an ideology about self, and others which explains clearly what being a part of a group produces, or better yet, creates.Tarot:readings, parties, lessons lectures, and stories are available All readings, parties, and lessons are limited to the Worcester, Massachusetts area. Lectures can be done across the United States.Email us at CharlieSabbat@magickisafoot.com or call us at 1-508-755-3496 to make arrangements.
A the top of this page are the links to short stories and Tarot readings written by me. There are more stories to come. The themes in the stories will be Learning lessons in life by living with your eyes open. This may appear to be moralizing, but to the serious practitioner of magick, you must be able to learn and teach from your own experiences.Ahead, you will find lessons, practices, and anything else that I deem appropriate to the study and practice of Magick. The word magick is most often used so as to differentiate between the illusionist, the slight of hand artist, and the real master of the energies inside ones self and then outside. The journey begins inside. It is the discovery of the universe within, which will translate into the so called universe out there!Disclaimer; This site is intended for people eighteen years or older. Due to the religious content, and biblical content It may be misunderstood that this is in some way a recruitment for some sect or cult. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Solomon, a biblical and historical person just happens to be the brightest star in the constellation of magicians and references to Solomon and his practices are unavoidable when discussing the subject of magick. |
